Family Tradition

My family has holiday traditions on every holiday throughout the year. All of our family, Grandma, Grandpa, aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and even those friends who are considered family all gather in one house and watch whatever sport is on TV, visit with each other and have a big dinner.
The most memorable tradition i have with my family is during winter. It doesn’t happen every year, but when it snows enough for the schools to close I end up staying home with them. The kids and I pull out the gloves, hats and snow pants and head outside to play. We sled, build the best snowman in the neighborhood and make snow angels. By the end of the day we are involved in an entire neighborhood snow fight.
After hours out in the snow our hands and feet become numb and ears feel like icicles, so we pack up the sleds, stomp off the snow and leave our outerwear at the door. I make everyone a big cup of homemade Peppermint hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and we sip on it as we defrost. We spend the rest of the day playing board games and hanging out as a family.  I enjoy winter time the most out of all of the seasons. Every time I have a cup of peppermint hot chocolate when it’s not snowing outside, I’m reminded of the happy memories we have when it snows.

24 hour Fitness

Working out at 24 hour Fitness is a community. The members share similar goals, live similar lifestyles, and have a similar gym wardrobe. Offering support, encouragement and complimenting each other on achievements is what holds the community together. Giving motivation and pushing each other, keeps everyone positive and working towards their goals.
Members of 24 hour fitness share similar diets that consist of high amounts of protein and share the daily routine of working out. In the gym, members read the same types of magazines; Fitness, Shape, Men’s health, and People magazine.
When I look around I notice that we are all wearing the same type of gym clothing. We have sporty gym pants and a t-shirt or tank top with active running shoes. We also have an iPod attached to our arm and are zoned into our workouts. Instead of going out on a Friday night to a bar or club, you will find us working out. For the most part we avoid drugs and smoking and we are healthy.
Some tensions that we experience during peak hours are a shortage of the newest, most popular elliptical machine. The gym has five machines, and there are a ton of us. So generally we work together and use it for twenty minutes then let the next person use it. Occasionally you will run into that one person who resets the machine and stays on it all night long.
I enjoy working out. It gives me energy to get through my day. When I’m not able to make it to the gym, I feel off track and my entire day is sluggish. I have been going to the gym since 1997, so I know many of the people that go there. We talk and give each other compliments and when we are unmotivated we give each other that boost. Going to the gym makes me feel awesome. My entire day goes so much better and my attitude is positive. 24 hour fitness is my community.

My purse, my wallet

If I ever lost my wallet, I would have lost my purse as well. My wallet stays in my purse except for when I’m purchasing something or need proof of identification to go somewhere. If I ever lost my purse I would feel stranded. I wouldn’t have access to money at the bank because I would not be able to verify my identity and basically you need money to drive, shop, and pay bills. I would have lost my favorite victoria’s secret lotion along with my cosmetics. If I lost my cosmetics I would be completely devastated. Every morning I put my makeup on before leaving the house. And honestly I would have to rush out and rebuy it that day but wouldn’t be able to without any money. It would be a catastrophe.

I have a tan wallet with darker brown letter "C"s that represent that it’s a designer coach wallet. When you open it you will find that it looks very neat and organized. On the left hand side there are six slots which hold my Costco card, 24 hour fitness membership card, Nordstrom credit card, bank debit card, Safeway club card, and my library card. On the right side there are four slots angled in a slant. There you will see my driver’s license, medical insurance card, social security card, and proof of car insurance card. In the middle there is a space for a few twenty dollar bills and a few quarters.

From viewing my wallet I would describe my identity as a young adult who is organized and simple but also enjoys high quality belongings. I’m a member to Costco; this could mean I have a family to buy for.  Being a member at a 24 hour fitness shows that my schedule is very hectic and I work out at any hour of the day that works best for me. The Nordstrom credit card shows that I like to buy brand name designer styles, while at the same time having a Safeway club card I enjoy saving money as well. I enjoy going to the library to read and learn about so many things. I have insurance so if something goes wrong with my health or my car i have the coverage to fixing the problems. My identification cards prove my identity. When you look at the picture and look at me there’s no mistake that I am Kathrine Johnson.

I think that someone would assume that my identity is shaped by my personal choices. I choose where I want to work out at and where I enjoy shopping even if it does cost more than going to another department store. I enjoy wearing designer clothes because they make me feel good.

If someone had to go into my wallet to find out who it belonged to, I think they would feel like I was a blonde haired skinny rich girl. They would be missing that I’m like any other woman on the street.  I have three kids, work and attend school fulltime. I have a heart like gold and care about everybody.
